Basic Info Bio
My first football crush was Ryan Giggs, and then Alessandro Del Piero. I loved Paul Gascoigne, too because of his unique character. When I was fourteen or fifteen, he was playing in the Italian club, Lazio. In the summer, I came across the news that Lazio was visiting a town close to my city of Japan. So I went to see them alone by taking a train. I totally forgot that I had school that day ( you know, Lazio is one of the famous clubs in Italy and they were very strong those days...who can resist?). Unfortunately I couldn't see Gazza. He was not included in the squad due to injury. But, I read his autobiography two years ago and found the true reason why he didn't come. He revealed in the book that he just didn't want to take a long journey, so he insisted that he felt pain in his jaw and had his doctor write a medical certificate that was filled with lies! Hahaha that's Gazza. I enjoyed reading that part of his book because I enjoyed just having been involved in it, being the part of the drama. Few people remember the incident, even Gazza himself didn't remember it exactly. But, I do ;-) Anyway, he kept calling the country that he should have gone to China in his book. Because I know that he struggles with his own life, faces serious crisis, I feel pity for him. I supported Inter Milan desperately when I was a teen. I guess my first OTP was Bergkamp /Jonk (I've realized it,vaguely). But, it became hard to follow football after leaving my parents' house for uni. For a few years, I wasn't involved in football at all. I wish I had kept watching and witnessed the moment Stevie G started his career. Boo to me! Now I'm a twenty-something and my twenties are almost over. I can enjoy and love a lot of things - bad or good, beautiful or dirty about football. I don't want to ignore politics behind the scenes or each club's history and philosophy, for examle, what the team colors stand for? That's why I followed Liverpool and Barcelona (and Bremen!). That's why I can't stand Real Madrid or AC Milan hahaha. I still support Inter Milan, too. You might have noticed that Liverpool and Barcelona are port towns and Bremen is the city located near the sea. Is it a bizarre coincidence? I don't think so. It seems to me that the liberal atmosphere of port towns that always attracts me is reflected in those clubs, so it's no wonder that I fall in love with them. As for my work, I'm the author of some novels and comics. I love drawing/writing man-on-man-actions :P I'm in the process of writing the new novel for a magazine which will be published on Feb 2009. |
